Artistic Collaboration Between Rebecca Lipps and Caleb Dickerson
Rebecca Lipps and Caleb Dickerson are innovators in interactive projection installations. Rebecca, an artist and educator, is known for crafting immersive experiences. Since 2019, Rebecca and Caleb have collaborated under the name Hex Visuals, creating unique visual entertainment that engages and enriches their community. Their combined passion for integrating video with art reflects the increasing role of video in our everyday lives. Caleb’s expertise in coding and simulation technology develops live interactivity in their public displays. Caleb's meticulous attention to detail complements Rebecca's macroscopic vision making a dynamic partnership.

Our Projects
CREATIVE FLOW is dynamic video of moving colorful generative art that reacts to walking passerbys. The Creative flow is inspired by the combination of NoDa’s creative energy and the history of artistic practices. The colors in the video to represent various forms of art such as painting, musical performance, mural making, sculpture, culinary etc.. blending together. The interactivity of the Link Noda II guest is to become a part of this flow that once was and is currently still vibrant in this area.
Located at Noda Link II apartments, this empty room, the video has stagnant and slow color moving. When a guest walks within eight feet of the screen the speed of the moving colors match their pace. This encourages the guest to stay and interact with the artwork to feel more connected to this common space.
CREATIVE FLOW, 2024
HYDRATE is a highly interactive public installation of a waterfall projected on the side of a 30 foot building. The waterfall is generated from scratch in the touch designer pro program. As visitors walk up to the waterfall their colorful silhouette becomes imposed inside the waterfall in real time. People are encouraged to move by waving, dancing, etc.

BLOOM is an interactive projection installation with community effort to beautify businesses in the city of Charlotte. A projection-mapped live video illuminates the McColl Center all seventeen nights of the Charlotte SHOUT! festival. Two highly interactive segments of BLOOM invite festival goers to become visual conductors of the projection mapped Charlotte building.
